A Day at the Beach

Since my kids were little, we have tried to make it a priority of taking a day trip to Seaside. They love the carousel, Tilt-a-Whirl, & bumper cars, as well as, miniature golf.  We recently had our day of adventure. Although my son Chris wasn't able to go and the weather was crummy, we still had a blast.

The first stop is our favorite hat shop. Since Chris wasn't home to go with us, we brought one of our favorite people....Kiana. She is my daughter's best friend. This is Kiana, Teisha, &  Kiana.

Teisha aka Hamburger and Kiana aka Onion!

Next stop, the carousel. They still like riding this at their age. I must say, however, that my oldest daughter, Teisha was acting like a two year old when it stopped......she was yelling out in a little kid voice that she didn't want to get off the carousel!! LOL!! She is such a goof.

Another favorite stop is the taffy shop. When it's nice out the "CandyMan" stands on the corner singing and passing out free taffy. When you go into the shop you get the spin the "Wheel of Fortune" to win free taffy. Unfortunately we didn't get to go on the Tilt a Whirl, bumper cars, or play miniature golf....they were all closed. Maybe next time.

It was a VERY windy, misty rain kind of day, but we love the beach and had a great time together.

That's the end.

Dancin' the night away

Last night we had the pleasure of celebrating our friends 25th wedding anniversary at the Monticello Hotel Ballroom. It was so fun to get all dressed up and have a good time for a wonderful accomplishment in life. It was especially fun dancing the night away with my husband and girls!

Here's me and my wonderful husband.....he endured my need for breaking loose on the dance floor!

This is my friend Tracy that was celebrating her 25th anniversary. Very honored to be a part of their celebration and even more honored to have them as a part of our life.

Here is a picture of the girls getting their groove on. They had a ton of fun dancing and it was fun to watch them bust a move!

I was also honored to make the cake for the party. This is the main cake for the couple and then I also baked and decorated 90 cupcakes!! I wish I had a better picture, cause my camera doesn't quite do it justice. All in all it was a great night of fun for our family and I hope we can do it again sometime.

Revolve Tour 2011

This weekend I had the pleasure of volunteering at the Revolve Tour in Portland at the Memorial Coliseum. This is the second time I've been with my girls, and my first time volunteering. I had alot of fun and it was inspiring for the girls. Since I volunteered, we got 3 free tickets for the show, so I was able to enjoy parts of it with the girls. The theme this year was "Dream On". All of the musicians and speakers based their performances and talks around  encouraging the girls to seek God for the dream He has designed for their life.  Another benefit of volunteering is that the girls were able to get in line for signing tickets and they were able to get their Group1Crew CD signed by all three from the group. They also got Britt Nicole's signature and a picture with her.

I had a great time and I know the girls did too. It was fun spending the weekend together and rocking out in the car. Sometimes girls just need to get away and be together, laughing and being silly....being girls! I love my daughters and I am truly blessed that God chose me to be their mom.

DREAM BIG GIRLS!!

Scary experience

There are some things in life that you hope you never have to experience. For me it would be getting a flat tire on the freeway when I am by myself, having our home broken into, or losing my job. But after today, I have to say that I NEVER again want to experience the wave of emotions that I felt when I found out that my middle child, Teisha,  was at her school locked down in one of the rooms because of the threat of a student with a gun. Anyone that knows me, knows that my kids are a HUGE part of my life and I would be devastated if anything ever happened to them. I am thankful that it all turned out OK (according to the news, the kid had a 'large knife' not a gun), but the moments that I spent not knowing where my daughter was or if she was OK were excruciatingly dreadful! She was able to call but I didn't receive the message until later. She is an AMAZING young lady that is blessed with the gift of humor! Her message instantly made me feel better and assured me that she knows Who is in control of her life.  I am so glad that God hears our prayers and knows our fears.

"Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10
